BOARD CHAIRMAN:
DR. THOMAS ABRAHAM

He is a Founding member of Kerala Center. Originally from Pathanamthitta, in Kerala, came to study at Columbia University in 1973. Became President of India Club of Columbia Unversity in 1975 and Chairman of Joint Committee of Indian Organizations. In 1977 he became the Founder President of Federation of Indian Associations ( FIA ) and continued till 1981. He conducted the First National Convention of Asian Indians in North America in 1980 and founded National Federation of Indian-American Associations (NFIA) and served till 1988 as President and from 1988 to 1992 as Chairman. Organized the first Global Convention of People of Indian Origin in 1989. Corrently he seves as President of GOPIO. Professionally, Dr. Abraham is Director of Advanced Materials Group at Business Communications Co. ( BCC ) at Norwalk, CT.

ABRAHAM THOMAS

He is one of the FOUNDER PATRONS of the Kerala Center.
Migrated to U.S.A in 1993. He took Masters degree in Computer Science from Polytechnic University in New York and currently working as a Software Engineer at AWII in New Jersey.
Before comming to U.S.A., worked as a Lecturer in Mathematics at St. Stephen's College Uzhavoor, Kerala.
His wife is Benzy ( Assist. Nurse Manager, St. Francis Hospital, LI ) and has one son James.( 5.5 yrs)


ANDREW PAPPACHAN

He is one of the FOUNDER PATRONS of the Kerala Center.
He served Kerala Center as Vice. President and President. Living in New Jersey




MATHEW KOSHY

He is one of the FOUNDER PATRONS of the Kerala Center. Rtd. NYC school teacher. Living in Queens. His wife is Prof. Annie Koshi and has three children

PROF. SREEDHAR KAVIL



Dr. Kavil is the Chairman of the department of Marketing at the Peter J. Tobin College of Business Administration, St. John’s University, New York. He is also the President of Kavil Consultants, New York and he does consulting work in the field of International Trade, Marketing Strategy and Database Marketing.
He serves the Asian Indian Community as the National President of NAAAID - National Association of Americans of Asian Indian Descent. Also, he is a Director and Vice President of the National Indian-American Chamber of Commerce, Washington, D.C. He was the president of the Kerala Center.
Dr. Kavil has won several research awards and has contributed widely to the marketing journals. He is the author of the textbook “Export Management Practice”. He hopes to complete his next textbook “Marketing in Asia” in 2001.
He has a doctorate in International Business from Pace University, New York, an M.B.A. from Long Island University, New York, an M.B.A., L.L.B. and a B. COM. from Calcutta University and a B.A. from Madras University and his most recent educational achievement is a L.L.M. from the Touro Law Center, New York.
Prior to joining the academic field, Dr. Kavil has held several top management positions in both very large and medium type multinational corporations. He served on the Advisory Board of the Direct Marketing Day in New York, Inc. for 10 years. He is on the Board of the International Institute for Scientific and Academic Collaboration, Inc. (IISAC). He also serves on the Regents College, The University of the State of New York as an Examiner/Consultant for their external degree programs. He is a member of several professional organizations including the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA).
Dr. Kavil has traveled to over 35 countries on business several times. He has conducted several seminars in many different locations including Europe, Scandinavia and the Far East. He has represented the U.S. Department of Commerce on an U.S. Trade Mission to the Far East in 1978. In March 1991, Dr.Kavil was invited to testify before the Presidential Commission (Minority Business Development) on “International Trade and Access to Capital”.
Some of the presentations made by Dr. Kavil were as a keynote speaker at New York University on “Total Quality Management”, “Trade Promotion Problems of Jamaica,” at the Eight International congress, North American Economic and Finance Association of Jamaica and at the Direct Marketing Educators Conference, (International) at Toronto on “Design of An Ideal Direct Marketing Course From the Students’ Perspective.”
He was a speaker on August 8, 1995 at SSA World Class Service Communication Workshop conducted by the Social Security Administration (U.S. Govt.). His presentation at the 1999 Convention of the World Malayalee Council was on “Entrepreneurial Talents in America: A Minority Perspective.” In appreciation of the successful negotiation of the renewal of a $420 million loan for the SSP Project (Narmada) with the World Bank in July 1991, the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat State (India) presented an award for Excellence in Community Service to Dr. Kavil in a public function held on September 17, 1995.
On may 12, 2000, Dr. Kavil was honored as the Outstanding Professor of the Year by the Alumni Association of the College of Business Administration, St. John’s University. Again, on May 24, 2000, he was the recipient of a Faculty Achievement Award from St. John’s University at a Special Convocation.
