KERALA CENTER INVITES AWARDS 2004 NOMINATIONS

The Indian American Kerala Cultural and Civic Center (www.keralacenter.net) is inviting nominations from persons of Kerala origin to be considered for its Annual Awards 2004. The award categories are: philanthropy, basic science, applied sceince, social science, arts and letters, fine arts, performing arts, education, engineering, coporate management, medicine and health services, nursing, journalism and mass communication, and community service. In the community service category, non-Keralites will also be considered.  

The awardees will be honored at Kerala Centers annual banquet on Saturday, November 6th. The keynote speaker for the evening is Dilip R. Vellodi, founder, chairman and CEO of Sutherland Global Services Inc., and an authority on Customer Relationship Management and Business Process Outsourcing. The Sutherland Group has the distinction of being recognized as a Top 10 Company in the "Rochester Top 100" for nine consecutive years. Under Vellodi's direction, Sutherland has achieved a compounded annual growth rate of over 40 percent in the last few years. 

For the community service award, persons of Indian origin will also be considered. The nomination should include a biodata and press cuttings of any achivement or previous awards. All nominations should be sent to Kerala Center Awards Committee, 1824 Fairfax St., Elmont, NY 11003 by October 15th. It may also sent by e-mail to thekeralacenter@yahoo.com. 

The Indian American Kerala Center, located at Elmont (Long Island, New York) serves the Keralites and the Indian American community in the tri-state New York area. It was inaugurated in 1993.
